Introduction
After just a few weeks on Australian shelves, IMSI's Year 2000 Now has been removed from the local market for legal reasons.

Body
The product contained a licensed version of Greenwich Mean Time's (GMT's) Check 2000 PC, a cut-down version of its Y2K analysis and repair tool, which is also distributed locally by GMT.
At $74, Year 2000 Now didn't undercut GMT's own version, priced at $69, but it includes a number of extra utilities in the same package.
GMT marketing director Doug Garske told Newswire his company was surprised when an agent in Nowra, NSW, saw the IMSI product on sale in his local software shop.
"We believe it was bundled for another market," he said. It has since been confirmed that IMSI's licensing agreement did not allow it to include Check 2000 PC in packages to be sold outside the US, and the company's head office had inadvertently shipped a batch to Australia.
IMSI marketing director Murielle Paviet-Fanolliet said the two companies were now in negotiations for a worldwide licence agreement, and predicted Year 2000 Now may return to local shelves. The companies have agreed that stock already in the channel will not be recalled.
